Source # 4- Friends Still Let Friends Drive Drunk

Summary-
This article is something that I found on The New York Times website written by Barron Lerner M.D. I used this article because of the startling facts that were featured in it and less for the true story that Lerner was telling. The article featured a few different stories about teenagers who had either died while driving drunk, or riding in a car with an intoxicated driver. He also mentioned a story from the other point of view, where a mother lost her 13 year old daughter in a drunk driving accident. He also addressed the issue of young people feeling no guilt when getting behind the wheel intoxicated. This helped shed some light on the issue of college kids being more irresponsible than I assumed. The article itself was geared toward the idea of no matter who you are, or how old you are, you should never allow someone to drive home intoxicated.

Evaluation-
This article was written in a professional manner where Lerner was able to address multiple different topics and hold the attention of the reader. His credibility was noted well by the title of his name being that he was an M.D. The end of the article discussed the book he has published appropriately named “One for the Road: Drunk Driving Since 1990” He is also a professor of medicine and public health at Columbia University Medical Center. The source has a biased against drunk driving as would be expected. I think that this article would be a great read for college students who enjoy partying and would like to see summaries of stories. Overall the article was well written and very informative.
