Source # 5

Source # 5- Sheriff Deputies Issue Over 30 M.I.P.’s at Teen Party

Summary-
This is an article that I already knew about before starting my paper because several of my friends were involved; nevertheless it was useful to prove my point of teenagers being careless. The article was written about a party that took place at the Jamestown Hall in Saginaw County but not in town. An M Live reporter named Andy Hoag wrote it and although some of his facts seemed to be shaky. The article still managed to at the very least raise some attention. While it was short, he brought up the points that sheriffs have not seen a party of this magnitude in years and were shocked by just how many underage people were there.

Evaluation-
This source was useful to me because I needed a real point to drive home in my article. This article may have been short and what appeared to be not cared too much for, it still got my point across that there are way to many teenagers out doing stupid things. The reputability of this source was pretty good because the majority of Hoag’s claims are based off of officer quotes that are featured in his article. While he does not address many other points or the real issues of what happened. It was more a piece meant to inform people of the acts that are taking place right under their noses in their own community.
